There has been a lot of talk about Team USA and the 2024 Olympics recently.
After a poor showing at the FIBA World Cup, there is a major effort to make Team USA the greatest it’s ever been.
Now we are starting to get a better idea of what the team will look like.
Shams Charania is reporting, via NBACentral, that Jrue Holiday, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and LeBron James are considered “locks” for the Olympics, barring any injuries.

The fact that those players are guaranteed to play in the Olympics is wonderful news for Team USA.
These are six of the best basketball players alive and they would generate a ton of attention, a lot of buzz, and plenty of wins too.
Of course, other players would also be added to this list.
Since these A-listers are locks for the team, it’s certain that other big-name players will want to join too.
This national team will be filled with incredible talent.
This will most certainly be the last time that James participates in the Olympics, which makes everything even more special.
That is likely true for Durant and Curry too, as they are both approaching retirement as well.
For a number of reasons, 2024’s Team USA is going to be a very special one.
But even with all this star power, will they have what it takes to defeat the global competition?
Other national teams have gotten better and better over the years and some of the most prominent players in the NBA are international.
Team USA will be better than it has been in ages, but the competition will be better too.
