For much of Wednesday night, it looked like the Los Angeles Lakers were definitely going to lose to the Los Angeles Clippers.
At one point, the Lakers were down by 21 points to their southland rivals.
But then LeBron James did what LeBron James does and he scored 19 points in the fourth quarter.
His output, along with some important contributions from a few other players, led to a stunning 116-112 comeback win over the Clippers.
Following the game, head coach Darvin Ham spoke about the amazing powers of James.
“He had the cape tucked under his seat on the bench, I guess. It was time for him to whip it out,” Ham said, via Legion Hoops.

James wasn’t alone in the fourth quarter, with D’Angelo Russell scoring 8 points, Cam Reddish and Rui Hachimura earning 5, and Anthony Davis chipping in 2 points.
But James’ 19 points were massive and made all the difference, allowing the Lakers to score a much-needed win as they push through a tough stretch of games.
The Clippers had no answer for James because he was shooting from the perimeter, getting into the paint, and consistently outsmarting their defense.
It was a masterclass performance and even Clippers fans in the arena were left in awe.
The Lakers were playing very mediocre basketball for much of the evening and the Clippers were well on their way to a victory when James pulled out his “cape” and started catching up.
He was a one-man team and shot 5-of-8 from the three-point line.
Wednesday night’s game was the first of back-to-back games and the Lakers are set to face off against the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.
It’s not clear if James will play in that game.
But after his performance on Wednesday night, he has definitely earned a break.
