During his years in the NBA, Channing Frye played alongside LeBron James and he greatly respects and cares for the four-time champion.
That being said, he doesn’t believe that James and the Los Angeles Lakers will win another championship this year.
Frye appeared on Run It Back on Wednesday and made it very clear that he doesn’t foresee the Lakers earning the Larry O’Brien trophy in 2023-24.
“That’s a zero, that’s a zero,” Frye said with a laugh when talking about the team’s chances.
"The Lakers? That's a zero, that's a zero."@channingfrye on the Lakers chance of winning a title.

Frye said that if the playoffs started today, the Lakers would be in a very bad position.
They would have to face the Golden State Warriors, who have been on a roll, in the Play-In Tournament.
Or they’d have to the Dallas Mavericks, who have also been great lately.
If they pushed past the Play-In, the Lakers would then have to battle the top-seed Minnesota Timberwolves.
Frye said that if he saw James in person, he would commend him on a great season and the skills he’s been showing off even at 39 years old.
But he would admit that the Lakers aren’t going all the way, at least not this year.
At this point, many Lakers fans accept that it’s unlikely their team will reach the Finals.
However, they haven’t given up hope on the Lakers turning things around and going far into the playoffs just like they did last year.
The team is currently the tenth in the West with a 31-28 record and is entering a tough stretch of games.
After losing to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, they are going to take on the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Milwaukee Bucks, and Timberwolves in the days ahead.
What position will they be in after those games?
