Wow, did we just dodge a bullet. Nothing would ruin my weekend more to find out that the Los Angeles Lakers, currently in the 5th spot in the Western Conference, would make such a stupid fucking decision to bring in Melo, a former all-star baller with horrendous lateral movement. I have respect for Melo as a former baller, but not someone we would consider bringing on. Fortunately, Lakers Management feels the same way.
It appears that the Los Angeles Lakers organization don’t plan on entertaining a potential deal for Carmelo Anthony.
According to Brad Turner of the Times, the Lakers “have no interest” in acquiring Anthony in any capacity and added that Anthony had called the Lakers a while back to gauge their interest level.
This comes after Joe Vardon of The Athletic reported that LeBron James wanted the Lakers to add the Houston Rockets forward to their roster. Anthony, 34, is currently in an estranged relationship with the Houston Rockets — he is still on the roster, but isn’t with the team or playing in games. After signing with Houston in July, he can be traded to a new team starting on Dec. 15.
